About Us

Indigenous Café prepares for its customers coffee and food with ingredients that are harvested and produced in a way that honors and reveres Mother Nature. Aligned with the beliefs of our indigenous relatives that we are part of Nature and must live in symbiosis with Nature, the café intends to play a role in healing and maintaining the balance of Nature through our menu and educative initiatives.

Indigenous Café chooses to operate with a focus to embodying indigenous regenerative practices that regenerates the Earth in all aspects of the business including the supply chain, ensuring every Earthly being thrives in a way that is the most ethical, equitable, empowering and above all, delicious! Through the ingredients in its food, the café connects humanity with the spirit of the Earth while educating customers of indigenous communities in Malaysia.

Indigenous Café welcomes anyone that wants to have the freedom to consume knowing that they are consuming responsibly and regeneratively, and to anyone that wants to live in harmony in Nature, wants to support, uplift and recognize the indigenous communities.

Our Pledge

Environment

  • 1. The café sources ingredients locally from indigenous peoples tending the Earth. The food is also seasonal yet served fresh daily, ensuring we are in rhythm with the Earth.
  • 2. As per indigenous beliefs, there is no waste in Nature. Every part of a particular ingredient or food is cooked and consumed, if not, composted.
  • 3. Reduction of plastic waste - no takeaways are allowed except if the customer brings his/her own reusable container.
  • 4. No chemical detergents, polystyrene or VOC paints. All materials during entire lifecycle of the business are responsibly sourced from Nature.

People

  • 1. Nature is our teacher. Just like how nature is biodiverse, every being contributes to the larger purpose, indigenous beliefs are based on nature. Diversity amongst humans, all beings, and elements are embraced and respected.
  • 2. The café is inclusive, safe space with an aim to employ more indigenous peoples based on indigenous values (empathy, compassion, honestly, respect, gratitude, supportive).
  • 2. The café is a community. This café supports the neighborhood and community, and ensures every being thrives.
